How do you know when to stop plugging in numbers for n to find the answer that you want. I could put 2 in for n-5 and get -3 so wouldn't that be a possible answer?

Hi Lauren, the question asks for which CANNOT be an even integer, so we have to plug in a few numbers. In doing so, we pick numbers that would be easy to calculate, so 1, 2, are all good choices. Yes, you can plug 2 into n-5 and get a -3, which is an odd number, but you can also plug in 1 and get -4 which is an even number. So no, B is not a possible answer.
