Ok...I read this one over and over and I am still convinced that E is correct. The conclusion is that the evolution of human language began after the extinction of a common ancestor. I dont understand how B is the correct answer. Chimpanzees are only used as an example to showcase his conclusion, but it has nothing to do with the conclusion itself.

The word "might" should suggest that what follows is not the conclusion, but is rather a plausible scenario which would invalidate the theory relative to species such as chimps.
