How do you know which questions are looking for only on answer?

The question will say explicitly that there is more than one answer and you are supposed to choose multiple.

Why did you plug in 0 to the 4th power instead of just 0?

Melissa, because we are trying to find the answer to x^4 - 2x^2 = -1, so when we plug in x=0, we have to raise it to the power of 4. It's a quick calculation anyway.
