Regarding the question with x being a cube of a number. The information you gave cannot appear on the GMAT since statement 1 (x is odd) and statement 2 (x is a sqaure of a number) contradict each other.

Hi, the possible of x (without two statement) are 8, 27, 64 and 125, with statement 1, answer can be 27 or 125 so it is not sure which one is x, however with statement 2, answer is just 64, therefore this question is right, I wonder why you said two statement can't be contradict to each other?

Miko, statement 1 says x is odd. 64 is not odd. This practice question is not valid in GMAT. I actually need to modify statement 1 to "x is even".

Hi A B, the square of an integer can be odd. For example, 25 is the square of 5, and it is odd.

I understand. However the answer was 64 which is not odd.

In other words there is no cube and sqaure of a number between 2 and 200 that is odd

I would choose answer B, since I can disregard statement 1.
But I see your point about whether the statements can be contradictory. We are the producer of the app but not the author of the questions / content. Let me relay your feedback to the author.

Thank you. Though you can "ignore" statement 1, the GMAT will not make statements which can't be true.

A B, I have checked with a top ranked GMAT tutor, and you are right. The two statements cannot be contradictory. I will let the author know.

So, is this question still wrong?

A H, statement 1 is supposed to say "x is even", then the question is right. We fix it in the next update. Thanks.

Hi, the statement is "x is between 2 and 200" would written as 2
