I couldn't tell the difference between D and E as the wording is very similar. Does it have to do with the word coincidental as oppose to unwarranted? Or is it a logical flaw on my end?

Jessie, let me offer my opinion. D, like the passage, is comparing a and b and saying a is more likely than b (say, 50% vs 75%). E is making a conclusion: if x, then very likely (eg, 90% chance) it's y. They are very close but not the same, and you are being asked which is closest to the passage.

Im sorry, i still don't understand why D is the correct answer. Could you explain further?

Nadia, answer D is the closest to the conclusion. If you read it carefully, it is basically restating the argument using a different way.
