Is there any way to solve for Scenarios I and III other than substitution? Phrased somewhat differently, who has the time to plug in an infinite number of possible numbers in a multivariable equation. I understand why II is facially wrong, but there has to be an easier way to determine that I and III are facially right.

Mohammed, 4 and 5 are just sample x and y that can be plugged into the equation to test the validity of the statements.
