When cross multiplying to compare 2 fractions, how do you attribute 25 to 5/6 and 24 to 4/5?

Alissa, to answer your question, we must understand the logic behind cross multiplying to compare 2 fractions. All we are doing in comparative cross-multiplication is multiplying both fractions with the least common multiple of the denominators. Since you are comparing 5/6 and 4/5, the least common multiple of 6 and 5 is 30.

Multiplying 5/6 by 30 = 5 * 5 = 25
Multiplying 4/5 by 30 = 4 * 6 = 24
