GRE statement suggests geometric figures are not exactly drawn. If that is the case how is it assumed that the line segment UR is 1 if the line is not straight the length might change as angle PUR is also not defined as 90 degree.

Saurabh, you are right that the problem should have stated that line segment UR is parallel to TS, or that PQRU is a rectangle.
