The answer vary if I solve rhe problem with statement 1 vs statement 2 is this correct?

Sandra, thanks for using the app. Yes, in this question, each statement alone is sufficient to answer the question. Even though you may get a different number for the area of the shaded region. Just like in the real / business world, when you investigate a problem, you get data from different sources that may yield different answers (even though they may be close).
