Hello! Could you clarify why, in the final equation, you use 8-7 instead of 7-6? Thank you!

hi Lynette, thanks for using the app. The explanation is just trying to quickly establish that 8- √51 is less than 1, by substituting 7 for √51 (since 8-7 also results in 1, the amount the ladder slips in the bottom). Sorry if that confused you.
